Zion Redington has learned and grown through his education at New Hope Academy since pre-K. For the last five years, he and his mom, Heather Redington-Whitlock, have participated in the Rock and Roll Nashville Marathon to help raise funds for New Hope Academy. Zion has benefitted from a partial grant to make his education possible and wants to give back.
Brian and Carol Thompson discovered New Hope Academy at a TobyMac concert in 2012 and have participated every year since.
This year, Zion’s family and the Thompsons have joined together to form TEAM Z2. Z2 stands for Zion and Zoë. Zoë is Zion’s older sister who has not been able to participate due to her medical condition. She has undergone five open heart surgeries and can’t run and can only walk short distances.
For the April 29, 2017 race, Heather and Zion are racing the 5K. Carol will try to run a personal best in the half-marathon. Mark Whitlock and Brian Thompson are giving Zoë a full race experience by creating a two-man relay team to push Zoë for the half-marathon distance.
Together, the six of them are trying to raise the full tuition for a student at New Hope Academy: $11,000. NHA reserves 40% – 50% of classroom seats for students from low income families. It’s an uncommon classical education for the entire community regardless of income or background.
Each educational day costs about $60 per student. That’s about $300 for a week of education. That also means each hour is about $9.
Will you donate to New Hope Academy to help Team Z2 reach their goal? Will you donate to NHA to help a deserving student receive a foundational education?
How many hours, days, or weeks can you fund?
Every gift matters. Every dollar matters.
